DIY Fix Check and clean detergent dispenser (based on analogous Whirlpool/Amana sources)

1. Turn off and unplug the washing machine.
2. Pull the detergent dispenser drawer fully out.
3. Inspect for clogging or hardened detergent/residue.
4. Press the release tab and remove the dispenser if possible.
5. Clean dispenser and compartment with warm water to remove buildup.
6. Dry and reinstall the dispenser.
7. Reconnect power and test a wash cycle.

Technician Only Inspect dispenser motor and related components

1. Verify model‑specific wiring and control signals to dispenser motor.
2. Test dispenser motor operation and position sensor.
3. Check for mechanical obstructions or binding in dispenser assembly.
4. Replace worn or failed dispenser motor components as needed.
