DIY Fix Check and clear drain pump filter and hose

1. Turn off and unplug the washing machine.
2. Locate the drain pump filter (usually behind a small access panel at the bottom front).
3. Place a shallow tray/towel beneath and slowly open the filter cap to catch water.
4. Clean out any debris (lint, coins, small objects).
5. Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages and straighten/clear as needed.
6. Replace filter and panel then power on and test a drain/spin cycle.

Technician Only Inspect/replace drain pump and internal drainage components

1. Disconnect power and water supply.
2. Remove the rear or front lower panel to access the drain pump.
3. Test the drain pump for electrical continuity and proper operation (multimeter or direct test).
4. Inspect pump impeller for obstruction or damage.
5. Replace the drain pump if faulty.
6. Check related harnesses and control signals if pump runs but still fails to drain.
