DIY Fix Check door closure and obstructions

1. Unplug the dryer from mains power.
2. Inspect the door opening and latch area for debris, lint, or caught clothing.
3. Ensure nothing obstructs the door from fully closing and engaging the latch.
4. Close the door firmly and attempt to start a cycle.

DIY Fix Inspect and secure door lock wiring and connections

1. Unplug the dryer and move it to access the rear or front panel as needed.
2. Open access panels to reach the door lock assembly.
3. Check connectors and wiring for looseness, damage, or corrosion and reseat firmly.
4. Reconnect power and test for error persistence.

Technician Only Replace door lock assembly

1. Disconnect power and open dryer to access the door lock unit.
2. Remove and document wiring connections to the existing lock.
3. Install a new OEM-compatible door lock/interlock assembly.
4. Reassemble and test the dryer for proper lock detection and cycle start.

Parts needed: Door lock / interlock assembly

Technician Only Diagnostic check of control board and sensors

1. Perform electrical diagnostics on door lock circuit continuity.
2. Check main control board inputs for proper lock status signals.
3. Replace control board if confirmed faulty after isolating other causes.
