DIY Fix Check door closure and obstructions

1. Ensure the washing machine door is fully closed and latched.

3. Try opening and closing the door firmly and retry starting a cycle.

DIY Fix Inspect for leaks or water around the machine

1. Look for visible water puddles underneath or around the machine.
2. Check inlet and drain hoses for loose connections or drips.
3. If water is present, stop use and dry the area before further checks.

Technician Only Test and replace the door lock/interlock assembly

1. Disconnect power and water to the machine.
2. Access and remove the door lock/interlock assembly per model service manual.
3. Test continuity of lock with a multimeter; replace if defective.
4. Reassemble and verify that the door locks securely.

Parts needed: door lock/interlock assembly, possibly latch hook

Technician Only Inspect and repair wiring between door lock and control panel

1. Disconnect power and remove appropriate panels to access wiring harness.
2. Inspect connectors and harness for damage, corrosion, or disconnection.
3. Repair or replace damaged wiring and secure connectors.
4. Test machine function after reassembly.
