DIY Fix Basic checks you can try

1. Unplug the refrigerator from power for 5–10 minutes and then plug it back in to clear transient errors.
2. Check if the fridge/freezer is cooling; note if cooling failure correlates with when “33” appears.
3. Inspect visible interior sensors, wiring, and connectors for loose or damaged connections (do this only if comfortable and safe).

Technician Only Service technician diagnostics

1. Consult the specific model’s service manual to decode numeric codes (some models use internal numeric diagnostics not in public consumer sheets).
2. Use diagnostic tools to read factory service mode error codes and perform continuity checks on temperature and defrost sensors.
3. Inspect and test defrost sensor, freezer thermistor wiring, evaporator fan assembly, and main control board for faults using a multimeter.
4. Confirm cooling system operation — including compressor and refrigerant system — if symptoms include loss of cooling.
