DIY Fix Perform basic safety check and reset

1. Unplug the refrigerator from the power source for safety.
2. Wait 5–10 minutes and then restore power to see if the SH code clears.

Technician Only Diagnose and replace the shorted temperature sensor

1. Disconnect power to the refrigerator.
2. Locate the affected temperature sensor in either the refrigerator or freezer compartment.
3. Disconnect the sensor from its wire harness.
4. Measure resistance with a multimeter; values significantly below expected range (~less than 10 ohms) indicate a short.
5. Replace the defective thermistor and reassemble.
6. Power on and verify that the SH code no longer displays.

Parts needed: Temperature sensor / thermistor for refrigerator or freezer section

Technician Only Inspect and repair wiring harness

1. Disconnect power to the refrigerator.
2. Visually inspect wiring harness associated with the temperature sensor for exposed, pinched, or damaged wires.
3. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors.
4. Re-test sensor resistance and functionality.
5. Restore power and check for error resolution.

Parts needed: Wiring harness repair materials or replacement harness

Technician Only Evaluate and replace electronic control board if needed

1. After verifying that sensors and wiring are within specification, test the control board input for proper signal reading.
2. If control board input is faulty, replace the board according to manufacturer instructions.
3. Reassemble and verify proper operation.
