DIY Fix Basic checks for ES temperature sensor error

1. Turn the unit off and unplug it for 5 minutes to reset the electronics.
2. Ensure the room temperature is within the recommended operating range.
3. Check that the dehumidifier is on a level, stable surface and not up against walls blocking airflow.
4. Inspect accessible areas for obvious loose plugs or visible damage around the sensor area.
5. Plug the unit back in and observe if the ES code returns.

Technician Only Inspect and test temperature sensor circuit

1. Unplug and remove the access panel to expose control board and sensors.
2. Locate the temperature/ambient sensor per model schematic.
3. Visually inspect wiring harness and connector for corrosion or loose contacts.
4. Use a multimeter to test the sensor’s resistance against expected values per service manual.
5. Replace the sensor if readings are outside specification or if physical damage is evident.
