DIY Fix Check and clear door/lid

3. Firmly close the door/lid and retry starting a cycle.

DIY Fix Power cycle/reset washer

1. Disconnect the washer from power (unplug or turn off breaker) for at least 5 minutes.
2. Reconnect power and attempt a new wash cycle.
3. Observe whether the error returns.

Technician Only Inspect and test door/lid lock assembly

1. Disconnect power to the washer.
2. Remove access panels to reach the door/lid lock mechanism.
3. Visually inspect lock for damage and test electrical continuity with a multimeter per model service manual.
4. Replace lock assembly if defective.
