DIY Fix Basic checks and safe reset attempt

1. Turn off the hob at the mains supply and leave off for several minutes.
2. Ensure ventilation around the hob is clear and there are no obstructions to airflow.
3. Check for obvious signs of overheating (e.g., excess heat from vents, hot surface).
4. After waiting, restore mains power and try to use the hob normally.

Technician Only Professional inspection and service

1. Obtain the specific hob model and serial number.
2. Contact Smeg service or an authorized appliance engineer.
