DIY Fix Perform descaling/maintenance to clear mineral scale

1. Prepare a descaling solution per the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Ensure the water reservoir is filled appropriately with the descaling solution.
3. Start the descaling cycle as directed in your specific model’s manual.
4. Allow the cycle to run fully, then rinse the machine by running clean water through the system.
5. Press any button to cancel the CALC message if it remains after descaling.

Technician Only Inspect internal scale buildup and verify sensors

1. Disconnect power and inspect internal water lines and heating element for heavy scale accumulation.
2. Use approved descaling agents and tools to remove hardened mineral deposits.
3. Check scale detection sensors for proper operation and clean or replace if necessary.
4. Verify the water hardness setting matches local water conditions to reduce future scale.
5. Reassemble and test operation, ensuring error code does not reappear.
